They say form is temporary, but class is forever and Rishabh Pant reminded the world of just that with a blistering hundred against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Lucknow. After a quiet, forgettable IPL 2025 season, Pant turned up the heat in LSG’s final game and left RCB’s playoff dreams hanging by a thread.

Rishabh Pant’s Ton Leaves RCB Reeling And Goenka Speechless With Just One Word

Among the first to cheer him on was Lucknow Super Giants’ owner Dr. Sanjiv Goenka, who took to X (formerly Twitter) with a one-word knockout verdict:

‘Pant’astic! #LSGvsRCB", wrote Goenka.

And honestly, there couldn’t have been a better word for it.

Goenka doesn’t usually tweet often during matches. So when he does, you know it means something. His one-word tribute perfectly summed up the emotions of LSG fans who have waited all season to see their skipper unleash the beast.

Pant Silences Critics With A Knock For The Ages

Heading into this match, Pant’s season was looking like an INR 27-crore misfire. Only one 50+ score, a string of low returns and mounting pressure. But on Tuesday, under the Ekana lights, against a top-tier side, with nothing but pride to play for, Pant brought the house down.

He smashed a 54-ball century, laced with 10 boundaries and 6 sixes, single-handedly dragging LSG to a massive total and spoiling RCB’s hopes of finishing in the top two. This was vintage Pant: daring, fearless and oh-so-destructive.

RCB's Top 2 Plans Go Up In Smoke

RCB had their eyes firmly set on that top-two spot. A win here, and they’d get that crucial extra game cushion before the final. But Pant’s century flipped the script and sucked the wind out of their campaign.

At the time of writing this article, RCB are 132/4 in 12 overs with Mayank Agarwal and Jitesh Sharma at the crease. But after the hammering their bowlers received, even a strong finish might not be enough.

Meanwhile, LSG are out of the playoff race, but this knock will go down as one of the standout individual performances of the season. It may not have changed LSG’s position on the table, but Rishabh Pant’s hundred was a statement loud enough to echo across franchises. And if this is what next season’s version of Pant looks like, the rest of the league better buckle up.
