As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction approaches, fans are eagerly waiting to see which players will be retained by the franchises. According to reports, Rajasthan Royals (RR) have already made key decisions about their team. Sources suggest that RR will retain captain Sanju Samson, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, and use the Right-to-Match (RTM) card for star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

Sanju Samson, who has been in excellent form recently, is set to continue as the captain of Rajasthan Royals. In the recent T20I series against Bangladesh, Samson smashed a brilliant century, further solidifying his place in the team. His explosive batting and leadership make him an obvious choice for RR as they look ahead to IPL 2025. With Samson at the helm, the franchise hopes to build on his stellar performances and guide the team to success.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the talented 22-year-old opener, will also be retained. Despite having a slightly below-par IPL season in 2024, where he scored 435 runs, the young batter is seen as a future star. With the right guidance, especially under head coach Rahul Dravid, Jaiswal is expected to reach new heights in IPL 2025.

RTM For Chahal And Inclusion Of Riyan Parag

The Rajasthan Royals are also expected to use their RTM card to retain Yuzvendra Chahal. The experienced spinner has been a key player for the team since joining in 2022, and his 18 wickets in IPL 2024 show how crucial he is for their bowling attack. Having Chahal in the squad will provide much-needed stability in the spin department.

Additionally, Riyan Parag, who had a standout IPL 2024 with 573 runs in 15 matches, will also be retained. Parag’s ability to contribute with both bat and ball makes him an important asset for the team. His recent performances in national colours have further boosted his value as an all-rounder.

As the franchise gears up for the IPL 2025 auction, top officials, including Rahul Dravid, Kumar Sangakkara, and CEO Jake Lush McCrum, are currently in the UK finalizing their strategy. With Dravid at the helm, RR is looking to build a strong squad capable of winning their second IPL title.
