Well, the good news is here for all the Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi fans. Saim Ayub, the talented batter has recovered from his ankle injury and is set to feature in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, confirmed by Zalmi owner, Javed Afridi.

Saim Ayub returns for PSL 2025

The youngster suffered from a horrific injury during the Test series against South Africa at the start of the year and was initially sidelined for a period of 6 weeks. However, the timeframe increased and he missed out on a place in the Champions Trophy as well. The batter was sent to London for further treatment and now he is set to feature for his PSL team in the upcoming season.

Initially there were doubts that Saim might even miss some matches of the PSL 2025 season, but now as per the official confirmation by the owner, he will be available from game 1 of the campaign.

Pakistan missed Saim's services in New Zealand thrashing

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided not to risk him for the white-ball tour of New Zealand but the team missed his services as the side got thrashed in both the formats. In the T20Is, Pakistan lost 1-4, and they were whitewashed in the ODIs, 0-3.

In Saim's place, Pakistan tried new openers, but they all failed to deliver as Pakistan won just one game on the tour.

The new PSL season will kick-off from Friday, April 11, with Islamabad United colliding with Lahore Qalandars. Peshawar will play on Saturday, April 12 against Quetta Gladiators.
