Sachin Tendulkar Becomes Second Recipient Of World Cup 2023 'Golden Ticket'

Following their trend of awarding 'Golden Ticket' for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have handed former India captain Sachin Tendulkar the coveted pass. 

As announced on social media platform 'X', BCCI secretary Jay Shah could be seen handing over Tendulkar the coupon under its 'Golden Ticket for India Icons" programme. 

Bharat Ratan Awardee Tendulkar is the second recipient of the 'golden ticket' after Bollywood iconic Amitabh Bachchan. Bachchan was presented the golden ticket on September 5, by Shah in the former's household. 

Expressing their delight, the BCCI posted a heartfelt message for Tendulkar, who has inspired generations with his batting, and on-and-off-field character.

The ten-nation upcoming CWC will be held in India between October 5 and November 19. The 48 matches will played across 10 venues over 46 days. 

The 50-year-old played 664 internationals for India between 1989 and 2013, scoring 15,921 Test, 18,426 ODI, and 10 T20I runs, respectively. The batting maestro also holds the record for scoring the most international hundreds (100).
