In an ongoing Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match between Kerala and Chattisgarh, Sachin Baby missed out on the well-deserved hundred by six runs, scoring 94 and helping Kerala post a decent total of 290 runs for the Chattisgarh team. With over 500 runs in five games, Sachin is having a great time in the Ranji Season 2024.

Kerala with a huge score of 350 in the first innings gained a lead of 48 runs, bundling out Chattisgarh for 318. Nidheesh, Jalaj Saxena and Basil Thampi doing their thing with the ball for Kerala, picking up four, three and two wickets respectively.

Despite Eknath Kerkar's efforts with the bat-scoring 118 runs and Ashish Chouhan's fifer in the first innings, the Chattisgarh team looks uncomfortable against the Sanju Samson-led Kerala team

The Southpaw Sachin Baby falls in the 90s for the second time in the match

During the first innings, Sachin Baby failed to score a hundred and got out on 91. Now in the second innings, while playing aggressively with a higher striking rate, Baby yet again missed out on a deserving century as he got out on 94.

The Kerala team decided to declare as soon as Sachin Baby got out and set a target of 290 runs in search of a victory. Mohammad Azharuddeen, who rose to popularity in last year's domestic season, continues to impress on his comeback as he smacked 84 in the first innings and closed the second innings with an unbeaten 50-run knock. Sanju Samson also registered a half-century in the first innings and now looking for a win as a captain.
