Ishan Kishan, who was a part of India's Test squad for the South Africa series, has requested the BCCI to release him, citing personal reasons.

Kishan opts out of SA Tests

Former RCB and DC keeper, KS Bharat has been named as his replacement. The exact reason as to why Kishan pulled out of the squad is still unknown, but it provides a great opportunity for KS Bharat to showcase his worth in the upcoming series.

Kishan recently made his Test debut on the tour of the West Indies, which the Indian team won 1-0. The dynamic southpaw has played 2 Test matches and has scored 78 runs, including a half-century.

Having performed well in his last Test assignment, Kishan was due for a chance in the South Africa series, as India’s first-choice keeper-batter.

Talking about KS Bharat, the wicket-keeper batter has been a hit and a miss in the game's longest format. The right-handed batter has played 5 Test matches and has only been able to score 129 runs, at an average of 18.46.

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Team India has a great chance to seal their first-ever series in the Rainbow Nation. The Test matches commence from December 26.
