SA vs IND | Deepak Chahar Doubtful For South Africa Tour; Reason Revealed 'Here'

News that could be a setback for Team India, pacer Deepak Chahar's participation in the upcoming South Africa tour seems unlikely. Chahar, who recently played against Australia in Raipur was named in India's T20I and ODI squads for the African tour.

Chahar will only join Team India in South Africa once the health condition of his father improves, having already missed the Bangalore T20I last week, leaving the team due to a medical emergency, where the latter was hospitalised. 

Speaking to Sports Tak, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer said that his father's health is improving, further revealing that he has made his circumstances known to head coach Rahul Dravid and selectors. 

Here's what Chahar said

"We got him to the hospital on time. Else, it could have been dangerous. His condition is better at the moment. People were asking, why I didn't play the final T20I against Australia. For me, my father is very important. He made me the player I am. I cannot leave him in this condition and couldn't go anywhere. That's why I am staying with my father and once he is out of danger, I will start my journey to South Africa. I have talked to Rahul (Dravid) sir and the selectors."

"Right now, my father's condition is better. (On SA tour) It depends on my father's health. Right now, I can't leave him and go."

Meanwhile, head coach, support staff and members of the Team India have departed from South Africa early Wednesday morning.
