The storm inside the Rajasthan Royals camp refuses to die down. After Rahul Dravid's shock exit as head coach and swirling rumours about Sanju Samson wanting out, the Royals have now chopped off another limb of their think tank.
RR chaos deepens as Bahutule and Yagnik shown the door
Spin-bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule and fielding coach Dishant Yagnik are the latest to pack their bags, leaving the dugout looking emptier than ever.
If the Royals were hoping for calm after a ninth-place finish last season, what they have got instead is chaos. First, marketing head Dwijendra Parashar left. Next came the hammer blow of Dravid's departure. Then, CEO Jake Lush McCrum parted ways. And now, Bahutule and Yagnik, two men who were part of the support staff fabric for years, are gone.
Rumours galore
The exits have only added fuel to the fire around Sanju Samson’s uncertain future. The skipper had reportedly asked for a release before the IPL 2026 mini auction, with Chennai Super Kings showing keen interest in a trade.
Talks fizzled out, but the whispers have stayed. Add to that Dravid leaving and the latest coaching shake-up, and the Royals camp looks like a dressing room with the lights flickering.
Where it all began
The rot seems to trace back to July's performance review after Rajasthan's disastrous 2025 campaign, just four wins in 14 games. The report was brutal, and insiders say it was then that owner Manoj Badale decided to tighten the screws.
Word is that Badale has shifted the big calls out of India and into London, taking direct charge of the franchise's future.
What's next for the Royals
The million-dollar question is whether this is a clean-up or just a slow implosion. A fresh setup could mean new energy, but too many exits at once can also break the spine of a franchise. With the mini auction on the horizon, Rajasthan Royals are staring down the barrel. Do they rebuild around Samson? Or do they let him go and start afresh?
For now, one thing is clear: the Royals' camp is more turbulent than ever, and unless the owners steady the ship quickly, the cracks could turn into a full-blown collapse.
