On Monday, December 30, the ICC released the full nominees for every category of the 2024 ICC awards. The International Council Of Cricket also released the nominees for the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Cricketer Of The Year Award.

India's star bowler Jasprit Bumrah, World's No. 1 T20I batter Travis Head, and England duo Joe Root and Harry Brook have been nominated for this elite award.

It will be the 21st edition of these awards as former India batter and coach Rahul Dravid was the inaugural winner of Sir Garfields Cricketer of the Year. Talking about the current four nominated cricketers, none of them have won this award previously.

Joe Root

The former England has had a brilliant year as he ended 2024 as the leading run-getter in Tests. Notably, Root has 1556 runs in 31 innings, which includes six centuries and five fifties.

Besides this category, Joe Root has also been nominated in the Test Cricketer Of the Year award category.

Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah's name in this list is no surprise as the star India seamer first helped India win the T20 World Cup with his magical bowling and has 70 wickets in Tests this year, the most by any bowler.

Besides this category, Bumrah has also been nominated in the Test Cricketer Of the Year award category alongside Joe Root. He is also touted to be the favourite to clinch the Sir Garfield Sober's Cricketer Of The Year Award.

Harry Brook

Brook has been multi-dimensional in 2024. He performed in Tests as he has 1100 runs from 12 Tests, averaging 55.00, which includes a triple century against Pakistan.

Also, Brook shone in ODIs, where he shone in the series against Australia and did his bit in the limited fifty-over games played in 2024.

Travis Head

Talking about variety, Travis Head has shone in Tests and T20Is, two totally opposite formats of the game. The southpaw has 608 runs from 9 Tests in 2024, averaging 40.53. Further, he is also the leading run-getter in the ongoing BGT.

Other than Tests, Head has scored 539 runs from 15 T20Is. Other than the Sir Garfield Sober's Cricketer of the year award, he is nominated for ICC T20I cricketer of the year award.
