In a significant development, there are reports that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to be included in the India A squad for the upcoming three unofficial ODIs against Australia A. India are set to host Australia A for a bilateral series, with the youth Tests being played in Lucknow, while Green Park stadium in Kanpur hosts the unofficial ODIs.
Virat, Rohit Set For An Early Return To Action
According to a report from Hindustan Times and quoted by News18, Virat is set to return to India later this month and will join the India A squad as the tour is set to take place from September 30 to October 5.
The upcoming India A tour will serve as a training ground for the two veterans, who are only active in one format and have not featured for India since the Champions Trophy 2025 final in March.
Also, being available for the India A games is also to impress the selectors and eye the spot in the 2027 World Cup squad, as several reports indicated that the selectors are not looking at the veterans for the next fifty-over marquee event.
Two Veterans Undergo Fitness Tests For Upcoming Events
Rohit Sharma has recently undergone a physical transformation to keep himself fit for ODIs. Further, the hitman also underwent fitness tests in Bengaluru, while Virat, who is in London, has reportedly performed a yo-yo test in London.
