Indian captain Rohit Sharma seems to be enjoying his time away from the field ahead of his team’s third Test match against the visiting English team.

With a nine-day gap between the conclusion of India’s 106-run triumph at Vizag and the commencement of the upcoming Rajkot affair, the cricketer shared a monochrome picture of himself alongside his wife Ritika Sajdeh through social media.

Sharma also shared a heartwarming caption in his post, which instantly went viral among his fans as they eagerly wait for his return to action.

On February 10, Indian captain Rohit Sharma took to his social media account to share a picture of his reunion with wife Ritika Sajdeh. The seasoned veteran also wrote a heartfelt caption on his post that reads: “Always by my side”.


Recently, Ritika Sajdeh stood up for her husband Rohit Sharma when Mumbai Indians' (MI) head coach, Mark Boucher, commented on why the franchise took away the captaincy from the five-time winning captain.

Last week, Rohit Sharma led Team India to an emphatic 106-run victory over England at Vizag to bring their five-match series to levelling terms. Leadership success aside, Sharma’s form with the bat remains a primary concern for the team as he has managed to tally just 90 runs across all four innings at a substandard average of 22.50. The 36-year-old also failed to make any notable impact with the bat against South Africa earlier this year.

Sharma will now be leading the Indian team in the third Test of their series against England, set to be staged between February 15 and February 19 at Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

The BCCI announced Team India’s squad for the final three Test matches on February 10, where Shreyas Iyer turned out to be a notable omission from the line-up.
