India captain Rohit Sharma expressed his excitement as he attended the first training session in New York with the team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

The first batch of Indian players, led by Rohit Sharma, arrived in New York on Monday. Since then, they have been exploring the city, bonding, and sharing moments on social media. On May 29, they began their preparations for the mega-event under the guidance of Strength and Conditioning Coach Soham Desai.

After a long IPL season, Rohit is back on national duty as he shared pictures of himself running, laughing, and engaging in serious discussions with his teammates on 'X', captioned, "Good to be back."

This is the first time Indian players will be playing in New York, making it more important for them to acclimate to the city's conditions. Rohit's early arrival and active involvement with the players indicate that he is determined to end India's decade-long trophy drought. Notably, Virat Kohli has not joined the team yet but is expected to arrive soon.

On Saturday, June 1, the Men in Blue will face Najmul Hossain Shanto’s Bangladesh at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

India will kick off their campaign against Ireland on June 5. The high-octane match against arch-rivals Pakistan is scheduled for June 9, drawing significant attention.

Rohit's performance will be crucial in determining how far the team advances in the tournament. He is the fourth-highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup history, with 963 runs at an average of 34.39 and a strike rate of 127.88, including nine fifties. Possibly playing his last T20 World Cup, all eyes will be on the Indian skipper to lead the team to glory.
