[Watch] Roston Chase's Hilarious Baby Dance After He Cleans Up Mayers In CPL 2024
Mayers gets cleaned up (X.com)
The 14th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2024 is an important one for both Saint Lucia Kings and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Both teams are languishing at the bottom of the points table and need to get wins under their belt to that upward flight. So, the intensity is pretty high, but when in Caribbean you are never short of some funny antics and the same was seen when Roston Chase cleaned up dangerous Kyle Mayers in the game.
It was the first ball of the 10th over and Kyle Mayers was looking good with a six and a four early in his innings. Kings, the home team needed a wicket. Roston Chase was handed the responsibility and he delivered. He fired in a quick delivery from 'round the wicket and Mayers tried to smash it towards the leg side.
He missed it completely though and the ball shattered the stumps to leave the left-handed batter frustrated. Chase though was pretty happy and came up with a little dance imitating a sleeping baby and then gave a nice passionate high-five to his teammate.
Andre Fletcher's Fifty Keep Patriots Going
Andre Fletcher though carried on despite the loss of his opening partner Lewis earlier and then of Mayers and reached his fifty in the 14th over. The right-handed batter started on a brisk note in the Powerplay with some lovely hits into the crowd, but slowed down a bit after the six-over mark.
However, for the Patriots it is still an important knock and with Rilee Rossouw alongside him, he would be itching to up the ante in the final few overs. The pitch is a good one to bat at the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium, and at the time of writing, St. Kitts are 112-2 at the end of 15 overs. They would be looking to get close to atleast 180 with plenty of batting to follow.
