Apart from the selected players, what goes into making a well-oiled cricket team is the back-end work put in by local and domestic net bowlers, who toil hard session after session to help batters maintain their prime form.

With several key players missing from India's final ODI against Australia at Rajkot due to injury and other reasons, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) drafted Saurashtra players Dharmendra Jadeja, Prerak Mankad, Vishwaraj Jadeja, and Harvik Desai as support for fielding purposes into the squad.

The aforementioned players came into the side as support after Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Shardul Thakur were unavailable.

The players were seen performing 12th-man duties and taking the field as substitute fielders when required.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and former Virat Kohli, known to appreciate youngsters and motivate them, post the conclusion of the tie, took selfies with the Saurashtra players.

Following their customary tradition, the Indian team handed the ODI series trophy to Saurashtra players during the photo ops after clinching the three-match series 2-1 over Australia.

Team India will now travel to Guwahati for its first warm-up match against England on October 30 and then play the Netherlands on October 3 at Thiruvananthapuram in their final warm-up.

Sharma and Co. kick off their World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on October 8 at Chennai.
