Out-of-favour opener, Shikhar Dhawan is known to be one of the most pleasant cricketers within the current Indian setup. Not only does Dhawan enjoy a great rapport with players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Cheteshwar Pujara but also with newcomers Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mohammed Siraj.

On Wednesday, Dhawan, in his element, poked fun at Pujara's post on Instagram, who is preparing himself for the upcoming Irani Trophy 2023.

Pujara shared a clip of him batting in the nets as the star Test-only player readies to take the field for Saurashtra against Rest of India. The Punjab Kings skipper called out Pujara for letting youngsters play, or else the championship will be named Elderly Trophy.

Here's what Dhawan wrote

“Bhai bas kar youngster ko bhi khelne de ab. Irani se Tere liye Naani Trophy ho gayi hai," Dhawan commented on Pujara's Instagram story.

Pujara is hoping to make a comeback into the Test side after being dropped from India's two-Test tour of West Indies earlier this month, where the team management opted to play young players a chance.

The 34-year-old had a stellar County season for Sussex, scoring 649 runs in 8 Division Two Championship matches, with three tons and two half-centuries, before being handed a one-match suspension as captain. The 103-Test veteran last played for India in the ICC World Test Championship Final against Australia in June.
