Babar Azam And Shaheen Afridi Overwhelmed With Support Upon Arrival In India For World Cup

After several hurdles and concerns, Team Pakistan landed on Indian soil last evening for the all-important ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, much to the adulation of fans across both nations.

Led by Babar Azam, the 15-member Pakistan side touched down at Hyderabad around 8 PM on Wednesday and received an arousing welcome at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Dressed in green Nehru jackets, the Pakistan contingent found themselves in a sea of fans, press, and security personnel while departing for their team hotel. Skipper Azam and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi could be seen waving their hands to fans amidst all the cheering and hooting.

At the team hotel 'Hyatt', management and staff greeted the Pakistan squad with thunderous applause while wishing them the best for the competition.

Both Azam and Afridi thanked Indian fans once all the festivities settled down via Instagram and social media platform 'X'.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan also joined in and appreciated the warm welcome in India.

The Pakistan team will have their first optional training session today before meeting New Zealand in their WC 2023 warm-up game tomorrow. Azam and Co. will begin their World Cup campaign on October 6 against The Netherlands.
