As the IPL 2024 season approaching its midpoint, Indian cricket fans are eager to know which players will represent the country in the T20 World Cup in United States of America and the West Indies.

There were talks that Virat Kohli might not make the cut due to his recent performance, but those talks have quieted down.

Now, the main question is whether Hardik Pandya will be selected. His form and confidence have been under scrutiny. Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team and also Hardik's teammate in Mumbai Indians, recently had a meeting with the Indian coach Rahul Dravid and chief selector Ajit Agarkar to discuss the squad and Hardik's potential inclusion.

Why is Hardik's inclusion is doubtful?

Hardik Pandya holds a senior position in the Indian cricket team, and his role as the sole pace bowling all-rounder makes him a valuable asset. However, his recent performances have raised concerns.

He has only bowled in four out of six IPL games for MI, and in the last game, he faced a tough time against the 43-year-old MS Dhoni, conceding 26 runs in the final over.

Additionally, Pandya's batting form hasn't been impressive either. There are observations of him struggling with fitness and his overall gameplay.

Hardik Pandya's fitness has long been debated, and his recent form hasn't helped as well. Injuries kept him out of the ODI World Cup after few games, and internal issues like facing criticism from fans in Mumbai captaincy drama have added to his struggles.

India's worry

With Mohammad Shami out due to injury and Mohammad Siraj struggling for form, India's bowling lineup appears weakened. Currently, Jasprit Bumrah stands as the lone senior bowler in good form. Hardik Pandya's recent poor form adds to the concerns, leaving the bowling unit vulnerable.

Hardik being available in full form and fitness is vital for India to end the drought of ICC trophies for past 11 years.
