Rishabh Pant Likely To Lead LSG In IPL 2025

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will likely lead the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise in the upcoming IPL 2025 season. The 27-year-old was purchased by LSG back in November during the IPL 2025 mega auction, after the cricketer spent nearly a decade of his IPL career at Delhi Capitals.

As reported by ESPN Cricinfo, Rishabh Pant has emerged as LSG’s top choice to become new captain of the franchise. The blistering middle-order batter was acquired by LSG for a hefty sum of Rs.27 crore to become the costliest cricketer in the history of the league.

Pakistan Wallop West Indies By 127 Runs

Pakistan spinners Sajid Khan and Abrar Ahmed skittled West Indies for just 123 in their second innings on Day 3 to secure a huge 127-run victory at the Multan Cricket Stadium. While Khan bagged figures of 5-50 to claim nine wickets in the match, Ahmed finished with 4-27 as the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

Earlier in the day, West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican picked up his career-best figures of 7-32 from 18 overs to reduce Pakistan from its overnight score of 109-3 to 157 all out.

Glenn Maxwell Soars With 32-Ball 76* In BBL 14

Melbourne Stars middle order batter Glenn Maxwell punched out 76 unbeaten runs from just 32 deliveries with five boundaries and six sixes against Hobart Hurricanes in match number 40 of the BBL 2024-25 season. Maxwell’s batting teammate Beau Webster also smeared 51 off 31 balls as the Stars culminated its innings at a fiery 219-5 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

In response, Hobart Hurricanes folded up for just 179 to have their seven-match winning streak snapped by a 40-run margin. Nonetheless, both Hurricanes and Stars qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament.

Ravindra Jadeja To Play Domestic Cricket

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is all set to make his return to domestic cricket through the upcoming round of Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The cricketer will reportedly feature in Saurashtra’s next match against Delhi between January 23 and January 26 in Rajkot. Apart from Jadeja, fellow Indian players like Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill are also expected to engage in some red-ball action before the 2025 Champions Trophy.

While several reports have indicated that Mohammed Siraj will also be returning to his domestic roots, a member of the Hyderabad team management recently stated that they have not received any official update from the speedster.
