Melbourne Stars fast bowler Mark Steketee flattened Hobart Hurricanes’ early response with three quick wickets within his first couple of overs. The speedster dismissed Caleb Jewell, Charlie Wakim and Ben McDermott before Tom Curran had a well-set Mitchell Owen holed out by Glenn Maxwell for a 17-ball 38 in the sixth over of the innings.

Following Steketee’s three-wicket burst and Curran’s breakthrough, the Hurricanes crashed to 54-4 in just 5.2 overs.
