Rishabh Pant, who is set to make his much-anticipated return to professional cricket in IPL 2024, will be there in Dubai on December 19, when all ten franchise owners will go for bidding wars.
A SportsTak report confirmed Pant, 26, will be present at the Delhi Capitals' table alongside the likes of JSW Cement’s Managing Director Parth Jindal and GMR Group’s Managing Director Kiran Kumar Grandhi, who have been very popular faces during the auctions over the years. In addtion, head coach Ricky Ponting and DC's director of cricket Sourav Ganguly will also be there.
Delhi have released quite a few promising names, consisting of Rilee Rossouw, Phil Salt, Chetan Sakariya, Rovman Powell, Manish Pandey, Mustafizur Rahman, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ripal Patel, Sarfaraz Khan, Aman Khan, and Priyam Garg. As a result, they have a considerable amount of purse (INR 28.95 crore) available to play with, and Pant, the ship's captain, will have a lot to think about to rebuild the squad.
However, Pant is yet to be fully recovered, and thus, whether he will keep wickets or not is still in jeopardy. So, with Salt no longer available, the Capitals, who finished ninth on the points table in IPL 2023 with five wins and nine defeats, will go for someone who can wear the big gloves behind the stumps.
