Pant injured [Source: AP Photo]
Wednesday, July 23 turned out to be a nightmare for India keeper, Rishabh Pant, as he suffered a broken toe injury, and was reportedly ruled out for at least 6 weeks. Chris Woakes bowled a fuller length ball as Pant miscued the shot, and the ball struck his toe, and the batter left the field immediately.
He did come out to bat on Thursday morning, but Pant looked in discomfort, and even though there is no official confirmation from BCCI, reports suggest that he could potentially miss 6-8 weeks of cricketing action. If Pant is out for 6 weeks, the maverick player could miss tons of cricket matches, and here is a list of them all.
5th Test vs England
Dhruv Jurel is keeping wickets in place of Pant in the 4th Test match at Manchester, and the India keeper will miss the final Test match at the Oval. The visiting team will miss his services as the southpaw was a key component of the Indian batting lineup, and was the second-highest run-getter for India in the ongoing series.
Entire Delhi Premier League
The second edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) is all set to begin on August 2, 2025, and Pant was slated to feature for Purani Dilli 6. However, the gruesome injury means the Delhi batter will miss the entire tournament, and the team will likely go into the market to find a suitable replacement. DPL will run till August 31, as Pant will watch the event from sidelines.
India matches in August
India was supposed to travel to Bangladesh for a white-balls series in August, but due to the political tensions between the two nations, the tour was postponed till next year.
As a result, India do not have any matches scheduled in August. However, as per reports, Sri Lanka Cricket is in talks with BCCI to arrange a white-ball series in the same month, and if the proposed plan goes through, Pant could also miss the tour.
With India's home Test schedule commencing from October, expect Pant to be back in time for the Test series vs West Indies, and South Africa.
