In the latest developments around England cricket, it has been reported by the Morning Telegraph that former England cricket star Andrew Flintoff will be parting ways with the team due to disagreements with white-ball skipper Jos Buttler.

Andrew Flintoff, who has been closely involved with the England National Cricket Team's white-ball squad since last year, will not be part of the coaching staff for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia.

According to the same reports, ECB is set to give Marcus Trescothick, who has served as a stand-in white-ball coach, full charge of the team for the series.

Flintoff To Part Ways With England

As mentioned in the same reports, it is said that Flintoff and Buttler did not manage to establish a strong rapport, which led to Flintoff's departure.

Additionally, it was stated that Marcus Trescothick, acting as the stand-in white-ball coach following the departure of Mathew Mott, is anticipated to have the liberty to select and appoint the coaching and support staff.

Flintoff's involvement with the England team has been on a short-term basis, without a full-time contract. His contributions included scouting work and consulting with the national team since September last year.

Additionally, Flintoff took on his first head coaching role with the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred 2024, which led the team to a respectable record with five wins out of seven games, though they missed out on the playoffs.

Flintoff's next steps in coaching remain to be seen, but his experience and work with the England team over the past year have certainly broadened his coaching resume.
