Patidar-Led RCB Edge Out Varma, Pandya Attack In Thriller

RCB secured a thrilling 12-run win over hosts Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in match 20 of the IPL 2025 season. Batting first, the RCB franchise hauled a staggering 221-5 from 20 overs, courtesy of Virat Kohli’s sublime 42-ball 67, captain Rajat Patidar’s explosive 32-ball 64 and Jitesh Sharma’s unbeaten 19-ball 40* at the death. While Trent Boult and Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets each, albeit at an expense of over 100 runs combined, comeback man Jasprit Bumrah secured tight figures of 0-29.

In response, Mumbai Indians fell to a precarious 99-4 in 12 overs, before Tilak Varma’s 29-ball 56 and captain Hardik Pandya’s 15-ball 42 threatened to take the game away from the RCB. However, key wicket-taking spells from Krunal Pandya (4-45), Yash Dayal (2-46) and Josh Hazlewood (2-37) kept the hosts down to 209-9.

In doing so, Kohli became only the fifth cricketer in history after Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard to complete 13,000 runs in T20 cricket.
