The UP Warriorz franchise has roped in West Indies all-rounder Chinelle Henry as an injury replacement for captain Alyssa Healy ahead of the WPL 2025 season. Healy opted herself out of the competition to attain full recovery from the injury she sustained during the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE last year.

The RCB franchise has also announced the respective replacements of legendary New Zealand all-rounder Sophie Devine and England fast bowler Kate Cross.

UP Warriorz, RCB sign in new players for WPL 2025

West Indies all-rounder Chinelle Henry is set to replace legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy in the UP Warriorz franchise for the upcoming WPL 2025 season. It is worth noting that Healy led the Warriorz franchise in each of the preceding two editions of the tournament.

The RCB Women’s team management has also announced a couple of replacements just in time for their title-defense. Australian fast bowling all-rounder Heather Graham will be joining the team in place of Sophie Devine, after the legendary New Zealand cricketer announced an infinite break from the game.

Similarly, Australian star Kim Garth is set to replace England fast bowler Kate Cross in the RCB team.

Last month, the RCB franchise also roped in English spinner Charlie Dean after Australian-based Sophie Molineux was ruled out of the WPL 2025 season owing to an injury.

The much-awaited WPL 2025 season is set to launch from February 14 onwards at Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium with a match between Gujarat Giants and RCB. The upcoming season marks the third edition of the tournament, and it will be played in four different venues across four different cities until March 15.

The Smriti Mandhana-led RCB franchise will enter the competition as defending champions, having won the title last year by defeating Delhi Capitals in a one-sided final.
