In a significant development, UP Warriorz captain Alyssa Healy is all set to skip WPL 2025. There are reports that Healy, who led the Warriorz in WPL 2024, has opted to take rest and manage her workload.

Cricbuzz reported that Alyssa Healy is taking extra care of her body following the stress fracture in her foot in T20 World Cup 2024 in October. "Unfortunately for me, I've got a couple of months feet up. I'm pretty bummed by that, but at the same time elated to have a little bit of downtime and try and get my body right. But I'm looking forward to sticking my feet in an ice bucket," Healy said.

Alyssa Healy Doubtful For New Zealand Women vs Australia Women T20Is

It is worth noting that ever since her foot injury, Healy has been conscious of her workload. She recently featured in the one-off Test against England women, where Australia won by an innings and 122 runs.

According to the Cricbuzz report, Healy is also doubtful for Australia's upcoming three match T20I tour vs New Zealand women. Further, Healy also commented on her injury struggles in the past 18 months.

"It's been a really frustrating probably 18 months for me ... you get yourself right, back playing, and something else goes wrong," Healy said.

How Have UP Warriorz Performed Under Healy's Leadership?

In the first season, UP qualified for the playoffs, but crashed out of the tournament in the eliminators. In the 2nd season, they failed to reach the playoffs and finished 4th in the table.

Now with Healy set to miss WPL 2025, it is to be seen who will lead UP Warriorz in the coming season.
