Ravindra Jadeja Ruled Out Of Series? KL Rahul To Return Soon! Report Explains

India's series seems to be going from bad to worse since dominating the first two days of the Hyderabad Test as chances increase of hosts losing premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for the rest of the stiff England challenge.

Ruled out of the second Test in Visakhapatnam over hamstring issues, Jadeja maybe out of action for the following three Tests also, reported the Times of India.

A source privy to the developments raised hopes of middle-order batter KL Rahul coming back for the third Test in Rajkot but appeared doom and gloom over Jadeja's participation.

Jadeja Could Be Ruled Out Of England Series

The Saurashtra all-rounder hurt his hamstring after an unsuccessful attempt to complete a quick single during India's run-chase late on Day 4 in Hyderabad.

Jadeja's run-out perhaps ended India's hopes of securing a victory but also potentially put paid to his involvement for the rest of the series as he was seen touching his leg immediately while bearing excruciating pain.

"Rahul could perhaps return later in this series, but Jadeja’s injury could be more serious. Let’s see what the NCA’s medical team tells us," a source in the BCCI told TOI.

Jadeja's injury and potential absence for the series comes as a body blow to India's chances of coming back after losing the first Test. The excellent left-arm spinner and left-hand batter is not just great at his dual skills but also helps balance the Indian playing XI perfectly, allowing skipper Rohit Sharma to field five bowling options.

In Jadeja's absence, the selectors have called in UP left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar and Tamil Nadu allrounder Washington Sundar for the second Test in Vizag. Even though promising in one skill, the two cricketers won't quite replicate the level of impact Jadeja makes on India's fortunes.
