England’s Test captain Ben Stokes, one of the most sought-after all-rounders in modern-day cricket, has joined MI Cape Town for the third season of SA20.

Stokes is renowned for his ability to bowl fast and deliver match-winning performances with the bat, making him a rare and valuable asset in the game. His career highlights include unforgettable moments such as the Headingley heroics and his match-winning knock in the 2019 ODI World Cup final.

Despite currently being sidelined with a hamstring injury, Stokes is expected to be fit in time for England's tour of Pakistan in October, allowing him to make an impact for MI Cape Town. Over his career, Stokes has scored 3,023 runs in 159 T20 matches at an average of 24.77 with a strike-rate of 133.23.

Additionally, he has claimed 90 wickets. Stokes returns to Newlands, a ground where he once scored a remarkable 258 runs off 198 balls against South Africa, and he will look to replicate that form for his new team.

Stokes and Boult Strengthen MI Cape Town for SA20

Joining Stokes in MI Cape Town’s lineup is New Zealand's star bowler Trent Boult. Having been a key player for Mumbai Indians and MI New York, Boult brings invaluable experience to MI Cape Town.

The third season of South Africa's premier T20 competition will take place from January 9 to February 8, 2025, with Stokes and Boult expected to lead their side to victory.
