The Rajasthan Royals franchise has trolled Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan after the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the entire schedule of the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. With February 23 being set as India’s Group A date with arch-rivals Pakistan, the Rajasthan Royals jokingly foreshadowed scenes of the impending fixture by sharing an explosive wicket from the last time these two teams met each other at an ICC event.

On December 24, the ICC confirmed February 23 as the date for India’s Champions Trophy 2025 clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Mere moments after ICC’s official update, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals took to social media and shared an explosive moment from the last time these two white-ball titans met at an ICC event.

The moment in contention featured Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah knocking over current Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan with an absolute ripper during their 2023 World Cup match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. In the caption, the prominent IPL franchise jokingly implied that February 23 will be glittered with similar scenes in Dubai.

As per the official Champions Trophy 2025 schedule unveiled by the ICC, Team India will launch their Group A campaign with a match against Bangladesh on February 20. The ‘Men in Blue’ will subsequently face Pakistan and New Zealand on February 23 and March 2 respectively.

Even though the tournament is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan, each of India’s three Group games will be staged at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The move to follow a hybrid model for the competition was decided after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian government expressed its reluctance in sending the Indian team to Pakistan over security concerns.
