Finally, after months of internal tussles and discussions, the Champions Trophy schedule was released by the ICC on Tuesday. The tournament will kick-off with the hosts, Pakistan taking on New Zealand on February 19, and the final on March 9, with a reserve day in place.

Apart from the rampant Pakistan side, Rohit Sharma's Team India are the firm favourites to clinch the title, but it won't be an easy task as they are in a tough group against the likes of Pakistan and New Zealand.

The team will believe in themselves, but here are two key reasons why the Men in Blue won't win the event.

The Dubai curse of 2021

Dubai will host India matches in the Champions Trophy, but the stadium has not been a happy hunting venue for the Men in Blue. In the 2021 T20 World Cup, expectations were high from the side, but they crashed out of the group stage.

Interestingly, even in that tournament, Pakistan and New Zealand were in India's group and both the sides defeated the then Virat Kohli led side. Pakistan know the Dubai Stadium at the back of their hands and the Kiwis have the resources to trouble India at this venue. Will the curse continue?.

The slow-low surface will not favour Indian batters

Dubai surface generally favours the spin bowlers, something which doesn't play in India's hands. Their batters have the tendency to struggle against quality spin-bowling and all the three teams in their group - Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh have quality spinners.

The likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma love pace on the bowling and the tracks in Dubai won't suit their style of play.
