Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid reached the pinnacle of his coaching career earlier this year after guiding Team India to a historic and drought-ending title victory at the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies. Marred by years of heartbreaks, the ‘Men in Blue’ overcame all adversities and past demons under coach Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma to win the coveted silverware.
As it turned out, India’s victorious moment also coincided with the conclusion of Dravid’s head coaching stint with the team. Now a World Cup winning coach, the legendary Indian cricketer was soon snapped by the Rajasthan Royals franchise to overlook their team for the impending IPL 2025 season.
During a recent event organized by the franchise, Dravid, the humble personality he is, once again won hearts of Indian cricket fans by finding time to sign autographs for aspiring new cricketers.
Rahul Dravid signs bats for young fans
On November 9, Rajasthan Royals shared a short footage on their social media channels. The video in contention, features newly-appointed coach Rahul Dravid attending a Rajasthan Royals event, where he can be seen being approached by a number of young admirers and emerging Indian talents on stage.
Without any delay, the 51-year-old demonstrated tremendous gesture by signing bats for the fans, thus seemingly giving them much to remember for the festive evening.
Rahul Dravid, who previously served the Rajasthan Royals franchise as a captain as well as a player, was appointed as its head coach on September 6. The decision was confirmed to the public mere two months after the former cricketer coached the Indian team to 2024 T20 World Cup win in the West Indies.
Quite recently, the Royals franchise announced its list of retained players for the IPL 2025 season. Having retained a total of six players and with an available purse of Rs.41 crore, the franchise will head into the IPL 2025 mega auction in late-November, and will likely be accompanied by coach Dravid.
