The wait is over as the Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on Wednesday, February 19 with the clash between two teams who play against each other quite often. The hosts, Pakistan will collide against New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi, in a bid to take the crucial win from the first game.

New Zealand will have the psychological edge as they recently defeated Pakistan in the tri-nation tournament. The Kiwis became the tri-series champions and will enter the Champions Trophy with loads of confidence. However, the side still has a key issue to deal with and that is the injury to their main man, Rachin Ravindra.

Rachin Ravindra injury status

The Kiwi all-rounder got stuck on his head during the first match of the tri-series against Pakistan, and was taken off the field as a precautionary measure. He didn't play in the remaining two matches and was kept under the observation by the Kiwi doctors. Now, with the Champions Trophy match coming up, will Ravindra take part Vs Pakistan?.

There were doubts on his participation in the mega tournament opener, but the Kiwis can take a sigh of relief as Ravindra took part in the training sessions before the match and looked in solid rhythm. He was also seen in the team photoshoot, and the wounds had partially healed. There is a great chance that the Kiwi player will be fit enough to play in the first match.

New Zealand suffer jolt before Pakistan clash

Prior to the Pakistan match, New Zealand suffered an injury blow as star pacer, Lockie Ferguson was ruled out of the tournament due to a foot injury and was replaced by Kyle Jamieson, who himself has had an injury marred career.

The Kiwis will begin their tournament against Pakistan, followed by a clash Vs Bangladesh on February 24, and will take on India in their last group stage match on March 2.
