PSL is set to upgrade its match officials' technology for the upcoming 2025 edition. PCB announced that all 34 matches of PSL 10, from April 11 to May 18, will feature this new technology.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) is entering its 10th season in 2025 with the tournament scheduled to begin from April 11. The 6-team event will host 30 league matches and 4 playoff games.

Meanwhile, PCB has decided to upgrade in-game technology to improve the quality of PSL. These new changes will help in better decision making which will further enhance the viewing experience.

PSL To Enforce New Changes In Broadcast

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 is bringing a big change with the full use of Match Officials’ Technology for the first time in the tournament’s history. Earlier, the PSL had used only some parts of MOT.

But now, it will be used fully to match global standards in fair play, clear decision-making, and fan engagement. Some exciting features of the MOT include:

  • Auto no-ball detection using ultra-motion cameras
  • Live umpire communication with the third umpire and DRS
  • Real-time innings and DRS timers visible to fans
  • Ball-by-ball over-rate tracking for teams and fans
  • Instant replay clips and multi-angle reviews
  • Hand-held tablets for umpires to track over-rates and trigger DRS instantly
  • Embedded microphone audio for clear communication during reviews

For fans, this means more accurate and faster decisions during matches, along with more transparency in umpiring calls. People watching from home will also be able to see the DRS countdown and innings timers live during the broadcast.

Lahore Schools Time Revised Due To PSL

To manage traffic and ensure student safety during PSL 2025 matches at Gaddafi Stadium, the Punjab government revised school timings in Lahore from April 3 to 21. All schools, both public and private, will now have working hours from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM during this time. Additionally, summer timings for schools across Punjab will start from April 7 to October 15, with adjusted hours for both single and double shifts.
