The Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow is known for some high-profile matches in the past, including Indian Premier League (IPL) games that happen regularly. In the ongoing game between the home side Lucknow Super Giants, and Mumbai Indians, Mitchell Marsh broke a major record.

The Lucknow Super Giants regularly play their matches at the Ekana cricket stadium, where a number of records have been broken in the past. We look at the five fastest fifty scored at the Ekana.

3. 28 balls by Kyle Mayers vs DC in 2023

At number five on this list is West Indian Kyle Mayers, who played a fabulous 73-run knock off just 38 deliveries, with two fours and seven sixes, for the Lucknow Super Giants back in 2023 against Delhi Capitals at this venue.

The Lucknow side batted first and posted 193 on the board, on the back of Mayers' super knock that helped his side massively, as they won the game comfortably by 50 runs, where DC could only manage 143 after the end of their overs. Mayers only took 28 deliveries for his fifty and scored runs at a strike rate of 192.10, which is the joint fourth-fastest 50 at this venue.

3. 28 balls by Sanju Samson vs LSG in 2024

Another player who is sharing the number four spot with Kyle Mayers is Rajasthan Royals' skipper, Sanju Samson. He did an excellent job back in 2024 to play a magnificent 71-run not out knock off just 33 deliveries against the home side, Lucknow Super Giants.

The Lucknow side batted first and put up a massive 196 on the board, as the target of 197that looked daunting at this venue. However, the Rajasthan skipper had different ideas, as he batted one down and consumed only 33 deliveries to smash 10 sixes while finding seven boundaries to strike runs at an incredible strike rate of 215.15, where he took on the Lucknow bowlers one after the other.

In the end, Sanju remained unbeaten to help Royals finish the chase in just 19 overs with only three wickets down, as they won the game easily with seven wickets remaining. For his half-century, Sanju only took 28 deliveries, which is why he is at number four on this list.

2. 27 balls by Sunil Narine vs LSG in 2024

Jointly being number two is Kolkata Knight Riders mainstay Sunil Narine, who played a fabulous 81-run knock off just 39 balls, with six fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 207.69.

The opener, who opened the innings alongside Phil Salt, helped Kolkata post a massive 235 on the board with just six wickets down, as Narine's 81 proved beneficial for the visitors. In reply, the Lucknow side could only manage 137 as they were rolled out in 16.1 overs.

Narine achieved his half-century in just 27 deliveries, where he did not give the Lucknow side any major chance to defend themselves.

2. 27 balls by Mitchell Marsh vs MI in 2025 (Tonight)*

The number two spot is also jointly shared by Mitchell Marsh, who, in the ongoing game against Mumbai Indians, did a remarkable job by scoring a half-century in just 27 deliveries at this venue.

Opening the innings alongside Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh played 31 deliveries for his 60 with 9 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 193.55, where he attacked the Mumbai Indians bowlers right from the word go. Mitchell Marsh was then dismissed by Vignesh Puthur, who caught him off his own bowling, but not before the Australian did massive damage.

His wonderful knock in the ongoing encounter helped the Lucknow side get off to a decent start as they lost their first wicket for 76. Marsh's 27-ball half-century keeps him jointly at second position, tying with Sunil Narine.

1. 23 balls by Prabhsimran Singh vs LSG in 2025

The number one spot goes to none other than Prabhsimran Singh from Punjab Kings, who, in the 13th game of this edition's IPL 2025, played a blinder of 69 off 34 deliveries, where he went on to score runs at a strike rate of 202.94, while smashing three sixes and nine boundaries.

The difference between second fastest and fastest is by four deliveries, where Prabhsimran only took 23 balls for his 50-run knock as Punjab, who were chasing 173 for victory, finished the game rather easily in just 16.2 overs, achieving the target with eight wickets to spare.

Prabhsimran played another excellent knock as Punjab defeated the home side without losing a sweat. This innings by Prabhsimran will stay at the top for a long time unless someone betters it by scoring a half-century in 22 deliveries.
