PCB Releases Schedule For Bangladesh T20Is; Faisalabad Gets A Match After 17 Years

In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially confirmed the schedule for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. The Tigers were originally supposed to face Pakistan in three ODIs and as many T20Is as a part of the PCB's future tour programme (FTP).

Meanwhile, the governing body added two more T20 Internationals to the originally proposed schedule. The first two matches will be played at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, a venue that hosted an international match way back in 2008 for the last time. 

The remaining three T20Is of the series will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore between 30th May and 3rd June.

21 May – Bangladesh men’s team arrival

25 May – First T20I at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad (8pm local time)

27 May – Second T20I at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad (8pm local time)

30 May – Third T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore (8pm local time)

1 June – Fourth T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore (8pm local time)

3 June – Fifth T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore (8pm local time)

As per the schedule mentioned above, all five T20Is will start at 8PM local time. The series starts on May 25, with the Iqbal Stadium hosting the inaugural game. Both parties agreed to replace the ODI series with two T20Is in order to prepare themselves for next year's World Cup. 

This series will mark the return of international cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years. The venue has conducted 24 Tests and 16 ODIs, with the last match played between Pakistan and Bangladesh in April 2008.
