Kuldeep Yadav Slaps Rinku Singh: What Exactly Happened?
The 48th IPL 2025 clash between KKR and DC was a hard-fought contest, which the former won by a narrow margin of 14 runs. After the game concluded, DC's Kuldeep Yadav was having a conversation with KKR's Rinku Singh, with players from both teams surrounding them.
As Rinku Singh laughed at some point during the discussion, Kuldeep hit him right on his face, albeit in a friendly manner. However, Rinku didn't seem too pleased, as he was caught slightly off-guard after the incident.
Although the matter didn't escalate, Rinku's reaction clearly hinted at his displease over Kuldeep's action.
It's worth mentioning that both players share a friendly bond, having represented Uttar Pradesh in the domestic circuit.
IPL 2008: When Slapgate Incident Shocked Indian Cricket
Although the Kuldeep-Rinku incident didn't turn into a violent stand-off, it made fans remember the infamous Slapgate from the inaugural IPL edition. Harbhajan Singh, who was captaining Mumbai Indians, slapped his India teammate and former Punjab Kings (Kings XI Punjab then) fast bowler S Sreesanth.
Harbhajan was angry with Sreesanth, as the latter continuously sledged MI batters during the second innings. When players from both sides were shaking hands, the MI spinner burst out in anger, slapping Sreesanth in this process.
Following the scandalous incident, the legendary Indian bowler was handed an IPL suspension for the remainder of the season. Later, he admitted to committing the mistake, apologising to S Sreesanth on multiple occasions.
