Pakistan's ace bowler, Haris Rauf has been in the news for a lot of reasons lately, whether it was because of his injuries or because he opted out of the Test series against Australia.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) terminated Rauf's contract just before the start of PSL 2024 because he refused to play the Test series against Australia. Now, the reports suggest that the board might restore it soon.

Pakistan team toured Australia for three Test matches, which were scheduled right after a month of the World Cup. Haris Rauf, who was supposed to be the premium bowler for the Pakistan team, given his pace, opted out of the tour and decided to take some rest

Although he was there in Australia for the Melbourne Stars to play the Big Bash League 2023-24, which did nothing but upset the board.

But Rauf was included in the T20I set-up for the New Zealand tour, which happened in January and the fourth match of the series was Rauf's last appearance. He couldn't make any impact and Pakistan had a disappointing time against the Kiwis.

Reviewing his case, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to terminate his central contract because he opted out of the Test tour in December.

There are some speculations about Rauf being unfit to play the longest format at that time and he has made an appeal with his lawyer now to consider his appeal.

The reports suggest that everything seems to be going in favour of Haris Rauf and he might be able to have a contract soon.

Rauf is currently out of action and PSL because of a dislocated shoulder but will be looking to gear up for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
