The ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 saga between BCCI and PCB has taken a new turn, as the Pakistan Cricket Board has conveyed to the apex board of cricket in India that they want in writing that the Indian government has declined them permission to play in Pakistan.

At present, the BCCI has demanded a hybrid model for the elite fifty-over tournament next year and are likely to decline playing in Pakistan because of security reasons. While the PCB is hell-bent on hosting the tournament in their country, recent reports have suggested that the Mohsin Naqvi-led board has asked for written proof from BCCI.

"If the Indian government declines permission, it has to be in writing and it is mandatory on the BCCI to provide that letter to the ICC now," the PCB source working closely with the organizing committee told PTI.

PCB source also justified the reason behind a written proof and stated that they want to know India's travel plans for 5-6 months to plan things accordingly.

"It is a fact that we are insistent that the BCCI must inform the ICC about its travel plans to Pakistan at least 5-6 months before the tournament and in writing," the top PCB source also stated.

There were also reports that ICC is mulling the idea of hosting India games in UAE.
