In a ground-breaking development, we might see India and Pakistan resuming their bilateral cricketing ties very soon as the Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to invite their arch-rivals for a T20I series at a neutral venue.

Notably, India and Pakistan haven't engaged in a bilateral series since 2013 due to persistent political tensions between the neighbouring countries.

The Indian government didn't even allow the men's team to travel to Pakistan, which caused the PCB to conduct the Asia Cup in a hybrid mode.

Pakistan to invite India for a T20I series at neutral venue

Meanwhile, before the ICC's annual conference, there were a few positive signs of resuming India vs Pakistan bilateral cricket.

According to Cricket Pakistan, the PCB officials are keen to invite India for a T20I series at a neutral venue after the Champions Trophy next year.

In fact, the PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi will discuss the possibility of the series with the BCCI secretary Jay Shah during the annual conference in Colombo.

The report also states that England and Australia could be the venue for the series, as they have shown interest in hosting the arch-rivals. The PCB hasn't decided on the hosts yet and will proceed once it gets the green signal from Jay Shah.

Additionally, Naqvi is expected to meet senior officials from other cricketing bodies to discuss security arrangements for the Champions Trophy

Barring India, none of the participating nations have shown reluctance to tour Pakistan, making the PCB optimistic about hosting the event.
