Updates are coming thick and fast as far as ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is concerned. Pakistan holds the hosting rights for the multination tournament, but its Indian counterpart wants the tournament to be held as per the hybrid model.

However, Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) chairperson Mohsin Naqvi has made a shocking statement, claiming the tournament will be hosted "entirely" in Pakistan and there would be "no hybrid model" for the Champions Trophy 2025.

"PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear to the ICC that Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions Trophy, and there will be no hybrid model. It's ICC's responsibility to bring India to Pakistan for the event, and not PCB's task," said a report from the Pakistani media house Express News.

Due to geopolitical tensions between the two nations, India and Pakistan have cut bilateral ties since 2012-13. Meanwhile, Pakistan has travelled to India time and again for ICC events, but India has made sure to keep its stance solid.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to make any official statement on whether Team India will travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. However, the Ministry of External Affairs will make the final decision.

Having said that, the top cricketing boards will meet in Sri Lanka for an ICC meeting from July 19-22, during which the Champions Trophy's fate will be decided.
