Riding on Udeshika Prabodhani's sensational new ball burst, Sri Lanka got off to a flying start in the ongoing match against Bangladesh in the Women's Asia Cup at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.

Opening the bowling for Sri Lanka Women, Prabodhani took two wickets on consecutive deliveries to rattle the visitors.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh Women's captain Nigar Sultana opted to bat first. However, her decision proved disastrous for her side, with Prabodhani getting rid of Dilara Akter and Rubya Haider on successive deliveries.

Prabodhani had a poor start to the over, conceding a boundary on her very first delivery. However, she made a remarkable comeback, jolting Bangladesh with two massive setbacks.

She conceded a brace on her second ball before nailing a beautiful in-swinging yorker to Akter from over the wicket.

The right-handed batter was undone by the late swing, as the ball sneaked through the gap between her bat and pad to uproot her off stump.

On the very next delivery, Prabodhani dismissed Rubya Haider for a golden duck, thanks to a sensational catch.

As of writing, Bangladesh Women were in a spot of bother, placed at 48 for five in 10.5 overs. Skipper Nigar Sultana (26*) was batting alongside Shorifa Khatun.
