PCB Affirms The Upgradation Of Stadiums For Champions Trophy 2025 After Boost In Funds By ICC

According to the reports from Cricket Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made significant preparations to ensure the successful host Champions Trophy 2025. 

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has approved the upgrading of three key cricket stadiums: Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi's National Stadium, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.

PCB Approves Upgradation Of Stadiums Ahead Of Champions Trophy 2025

According to the reports, Mohsin Naqvi's recent visit to the London head office of BDP Pattern, a renowned UK-based architectural firm. He discussed the renovation plans with the firm which is known for its expertise in stadium design and architecture.

As mentioned in the reports, renovation work is already underway at Karachi's National Stadium, one of the main venues for the tournament, along with Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium

The ICC has also shown its support by approving a substantial budget of $70 million. This budget not only covers the renovation costs but also includes expenses for warm-up matches, media, and promotional activities.

These upgrades are crucial for Pakistan as it gears up to host this prestigious event, ensuring that the stadiums meet international standards and provide an exceptional experience for players and fans alike.

Pakistan To Host Bangladesh In Next Series

In Pakistan's next assignment, they will host Bangladesh in a two-game test series. The first match will start on August 21, 2024, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. 

The next match is scheduled to take place at the Karachi National Stadium and will begin on August 30. These Test matches play a crucial role in the consideration for the World Test Championship campaign standings.
