The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 season has grabbed the eyeballs of cricket fans across the country since some of the top talents from Delhi are competing against each other. Last season, the league unearthed several gems who went on to dominate the IPL and were also fast-tracked into the Indian cricket team.
Meanwhile, in match nine of the DPL 2025 season, the North Delhi Strikers were up against the Outer Delhi Warriors. North Delhi posted 163 runs in the first inning, and Outer Delhi stumbled in the chase, losing the contest by 19 runs.
Interestingly, a few popular faces from the IPL were also participating in this game, and here’s a detailed overview of their performance.
Who Passes And Who Failed In DPL 2025 Match 9?
Harshit Rana
After getting ignored for the Test between India and England, KKR fast bowler Harshit Rana returned home and participated in the DPL 2025 as captain for the North Delhi Strikers. With the bat, Rana was dismissed on a golden duck by Siddhant Sharma as he failed to make an impact at no.8.
However, Rana led from the front with the ball. In his 4-over spell, he grabbed 2 wickets (Harsh Tyagi and Siddhant Sharma) while conceding 24 runs. The KKR star bowled the crucial 19th over and leaked only 5 runs while fetching a wicket as well. That clutch performance helped North Deli sail through a victory.
Priyansh Arya
Opening batter Priyansh Arya gained fame in the previous edition of DPL and got immediately picked by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 season, where he slammed a century to win fans’ hearts.
However, against North Delhi, the Outer Delhi opener registered a rare failure, scoring just 8 runs in 12 balls before Kuldip Yadav dismissed him in the powerplay. Arya, usually known for his fireworks, failed to make an impact that eventually cost him his team in the chase.
Suyash Sharma
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s key spinner Suyash Sharma is representing Outer Delhi Warriors in DPL 2025. Suyash, who won the IPL title with RCB this year, went wicketless against North Delhi. In his 4 overs, Sharma conceded 32 runs without a single wicket. His high economy rate allowed the opposition to post a par total of 163 runs on the board. Despite coming off a successful IPL season with RCB, Suyash Sharma is yet to pick up the steam in DPL 2025.
Kuldip Yadav
Former Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Kuldip Yadav bowled a sensational spell that powered the North Delhi Strikers to a 19-run victory. Defending 163 runs, Yadav picked up 3 wickets, including those of Priyansh Arya and Varun Yadav. He conceded only 32 runs and delivered crucial blows to Outer Delhi in the power play. Kuldip Yadav made his IPL debut for RR in 2021 and also played a couple of games in 2023.
Underdogs Shine Bright In DPL 2025
While some IPL stars underperformed, a few unfamiliar faces grabbed the spotlight. North Delhi opener Sarthak Ranjan scored 77 runs in 50 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes to power his side to a formidable total. For Outer Delhi, only Keshav Dabas showed intent with the bat, scoring 40 off 26 balls. Vikas Dixit picked up 3 wickets for just 19 runs in the second inning for the North Delhi Strikers.
