The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their 18-year-long wait for the Indian Premier League (IPL) title. The Rajat Patidar-led side defeated the Punjab Kings by six runs in a high-octane final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad earlier this week. While the win itself was historic, a heartfelt moment between RCB captain Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli has now taken the spotlight.

Rajat Patidar's Special Gesture For RCB's Hero Virat Kohli

In a now-viral unseen video from the post-match celebrations, Rajat Patidar was seen respectfully stepping aside and urging Kohli to perform the act of signing the broadcast camera. However, Kohli was initially hesitant when Patidar urged him to step forward and sign the camera, but the crowd’s cheers and his teammates’ encouragement eventually convinced him.

Despite being the official captain of RCB during their IPL 2025 campaign, Patidar played a composed and humble role throughout the tournament. Much of the on-field energy, decision-making, and leadership came from Kohli, who was seen constantly mentoring players and setting fields.

Virat Kohli's Long-Awaited Redemption

In IPL 2025 Virat Kohli made 657 runs in 15 matches at an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71. His tally included eight half-centuries all in winning causes.

For a player who has given everything to the franchise from leading them to three finals to standing tall in their lowest phases and now lifting the trophy. IPL 2025 will always remain special for RCB's hero Virat Kohli.

Celebration Turns Tragic In Bengaluru

However, RCB’s historic night took a heartbreaking turn the next day. As the team returned to Bengaluru for a victory celebration at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, tragedy struck outside the venue. A massive crowd had gathered, and due to overcrowding and mismanagement, a stampede ensued, leaving 11 people dead and several injured.
