India star Virat Kohli, who recently enjoyed one of the most joyous days of his life after guiding RCB to their first-ever IPL title, has now landed in hot waters as the right-hand batter is facing the backlash over the recent stampede in Bengaluru. The celebrations on June 4, turned ugly after 11 people were killed following a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The incident sent the internet into a shockwave as the fans, players, and all the renowned figures, including PM Modi mourned the unfortunate killings. In the past couple of days, several developments took place regarding the incident and in the latest events, '#ArrestViratKohli' is trending on social media.

Fans Blame Virat Kohli Behind The Loss Of Lives In Bengaluru

With over 36k tweets, social media is filled with backlash to the Indian star. Notably, a section of fans are holding the former RCB star accountable for the incident. The fans are upset over the news that Virat flew out of Bengaluru the day after the killings and reports mentioned that the RCB star might soon look to fly to London.

While there is no confirmation of this news, the fans are irked by these reports and demanding an arrest. Another reason behind the viral trend is the fact that a few media houses reported that a senior RCB star pushed for a victory parade on the next day of IPL final and it led to the mismanagement. Now the fans are assuming the senior star to be Virat Kohli.

Fans Come To Virat Kohli's Support

While there is a section of fans, who have started '#ArrestViratKohli' trend, another section has come to the cricketer's defence. The Twitter feed is filled with a common voice that the recent demand to arrest Virat is nothing but a misdirected anger towards the RCB batter.

The fans pointed out that it is the RCB management, state government, or the police to be held accountable and the players had no role in the unfortunate incident. For the unversed, it is also worth noting that all the RCB stars, including Virat mourned the killings.

Police Arrest RCB Head Of Marketing

The recent step taken towards the matter is the arrest of RCB head of marketing Nikhil Sosale, as he was looking to fly out of Bengaluru. Notably, an FIR was filed against RCB on Thursday, June 5, which prompted the police to take action against Nikhil.
