In a historic debut Test series, West Indies' Pacer Shamar Joseph showcased an outstanding performance against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane, claiming 7 wickets in the 4th innings to secure a narrow eight-run win for his team. The 24-year-old pacer's remarkable feat earned him the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.

Australian captain Pat Cummins, ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023, impressed by Joseph's resilience and skill, took to Instagram to praise the young quick. In a display of sportsmanship, Cummins and Joseph swapped jerseys, symbolizing player camaraderie. Cummins also secured Shamar Joseph's autograph on the exchanged jersey.

"Shamar Joseph's debut series! Played brilliantly, already a superstar," Cummins wrote, acknowledging Joseph's incredible achievement.

The Test at Gabba marked West Indies' first victory at the venue since 1988, making it a memorable and thrilling encounter.

Joseph's historic spell became even more noteworthy as he battled through pain, having been injured just a day before. His remarkable comeback, taking 7 wickets in the second innings after a first-innings wicket, played a pivotal role in West Indies' triumph.

With the Test series concluding in a 1-1 draw, attention now shifts to the upcoming One-Day Internationals (ODI) and T20 Internationals (T20I), starting on February 2. The West Indies, riding high on their Test success, will look to carry the momentum into the limited-overs formats.
