In the latest development, Paras Dogra, the veteran batter with a prolific domestic cricket career, has been named captain of the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) team for the upcoming Buchi Babu Tournament.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 15 to September 11, 2024, and will be held in the four-day red-ball format. 


Paras Dogra All Set To Play For Jammu and Kashmir 

Paras Dogra, who made his debut in 2001, has accumulated an impressive 9604 runs in 135 first-class matches at an average of 49.76, which also includes 31 centuries and 33 half-centuries. 

Notably, Dogra has previously played for India 'A' and represented his home state Himachal Pradesh before moving to Pondicherry for the 2018/19 to 2023/24 seasons.

J&K is placed in Group D for the tournament, alongside Chhattisgarh and Baroda. Their campaign begins against Chhattisgarh at Natham from August 15-18, followed by a match against Baroda from August 21-24 at the same venue. 

The Buchi Babu tournament, revived last year by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) after a six-year hiatus, will feature 12 teams competing. 

Other notable teams include Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Hyderabad, Railways, Gujarat, TNCA President’s XI, Mumbai, and Haryana.
