Carse, Tongue Clean Up India After Rahul, Rishabh Pant Tons
Rishabh Pant pounded his eighth Test century and his second of the match by cracking a speedy 118 from just 140 balls. Senior opener KL Rahul top-scored in the innings by composing 137 runs as the two centurions shared 195 runs for the fourth wicket. Overall, Team India made 364 from 96 overs in the second innings to set England a target of 371 with six overs and an entire day left in the match. For England, pacemen Brydon Carse and Josh Tongue picked up three wickets each in the innings.
English openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett safely negotiated the six overs of play before stumps to reach 21-0.
Prithvi Shaw To Join Maharashtra After Getting NOC From Mumbai
Out-of-favour Indian batter Prithvi Shaw is set to join the Maharashtra cricket team. As per reports, the cricketer recently received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). Earlier this year, Shaw was dropped from the Mumbai squad midway through the 2024-25 domestic season in India on fitness grounds.
Bangladesh Recall Litton Das For ODI Series Vs SL
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced Bangladesh’s 16-player squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. The board has recalled out-of-form wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das to the lineup, with the chief selector citing his ascension as T20I captain as the primary reason for his return. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is set to lead the national side for the first time ever since he was appointed as Bangladesh’s full-time ODI captain. The series will also mark Bangladesh’s first ODI assignment since the retirements of seasoned veterans like Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Oman Cricket Agrees To Pay 2024 T20 WC Pending Dues
Oman Cricket (OC) has agreed to pay the pending dues of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to all the participating players and support staff members of the national team. Releasing an official statement, the board confirmed that they will disburse the total amount of USD 225,000 by the month of July.
Oman Cricket explained that the delay in payment was “procedural” in nature, and even criticised the 11 players who walked out of the team in protest of unpaid dues mere hours prior to the launch of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup last year.
WCPL 2025 Squads Locked In After Player Drafts
The player draft of the upcoming 2025 edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) wrapped up on June 23. Each of the three competing franchises, namely Barbados Royals Women, Trinbago Knight Riders Women and the Guyana Amazon Warriors Women have successfully locked in their respective 15-player squads for the tournament.
Defending champions Barbados Royals roped in star Indian spinner Shreyanka Patil, where she will join the likes of modern-day heavyweights Hayley Matthews and Chamari Athapaththu. The WCPL 2025 season will launch from September 6 onwards this year.
