In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the Pakistan Shaheens' squad for the upcoming Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament. While Mohammad Irfan Khan Niazi has been named the captain, exciting young prospects like Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Naeem and Ubaid Shah have also been included in the side.

Irfan Khan Niazi, once a regular in Pakistan's limited-overs setup, hasn't played international cricket for quite a while now. The middle-order batter, who has featured in 23 matches, including 9 ODIs and 14 T20Is, will lead the Pakistani contingent in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025.

Swashbuckling finisher Arafat Minhas, opening batter Mohammad Naeem and top-order sensation Yasir Khan are expected to play crucial roles for the Shaheens in the tournament.

The experienced Sufiyan Moqim will spearhead Pakistan Shaheen's spin-bowling attack in the Rising Stars Asia Cup. Meanwhile, Ahmed Daniyal and Shahid Aziz will lead the pace-bowling department alongside Naseem Shah's brother, Ubaid.

In 20 T20 matches, Ubaid Shah has bagged 20 wickets at an average of 31.20 and a strike rate of 19.7. On the other hand, Yasir Khan was one of the Shaheens' most impactful performers in the Top End T20 series, amassing 172 runs at a strike rate of 123.74.

Apart from these names, the Shaheens will rely on budding talents like Maaz Sadaqat, Mubasir Khan, Mohammad Faiq and Mohammad Salman to succeed in the Asia Cup Rising Stars competition.
