Pakistan-Origin Bowler Shatters Shaheen Afridi's Record For Fastest 100 ODI Wickets

On Wednesday, July 25, Oman seamer Bilal Khan entered the history books as he became the fastest seamer to take 100 ODI wickets. 

Bilal achieved the feat in just 49 ODIs, and with that, he broke Shaheen Afridi's record to become the fastest seamer to script this record. Notably, the star Pakistan seamer achieved the same feat in 51 ODIs.

Overall, Sandeep Lamichhane is the fastest bowler to have 100 ODI wickets, as the spinner from Nepal scripted the feat in just 42 matches. Meanwhile, Rashid Khan also took fewer games than Bilal for the same feat.

Talking about Bilal Khan, he achieved the feat during Oman's ICC CWC League 2 game against Namibia in which he took three wickets.

Bilal registered the figures of 3/50 in his 10 overs. His feat restricted Namibia to 196/9 after 50 overs.

Bilal, who made his ODI debut in April 2019, has four five-wicket hauls in this format. He also has a great record in the 20-over format for Oman, having claimed 110 wickets in 78 games at an economy of 6.78.
