Sandeep Lamichhane was finally granted the Grade A central contract by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

Earlier, the Nepal star cricketer was not given this contract as he was accused of rape. However, later on May 15, the Patan High Court acquitted him in the rape case.

The other players included in this central contract are Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC, Sompal Kami and captain Rohit Paudel.

Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, Lamichhane was denied a US visa and missed the first two matches for Nepal.

However, he eventually managed to play a couple of games in the Caribbean leg of the marquee tournament where he showcased his excellent bowling skills and temperament.

The ace leg-spinner became the second-fastest bowler to reach 100 T20I wickets. He achieved this milestone in 54 matches, second only to Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan who did it in 53 games.
